Privacy Notice

1. Scope

This Privacy Notice explains how RED / BLUE collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when people use the service, join RED or BLUE, view or click Captain placements, create shared score pages, or purchase Captain advertising.

2. Information we process

RED / BLUE may process first-party participation cookies, round participation records, public Captain destination information, Captain auction and payment records, Captain views and clicks, coarse page-view events, operational logs, security and fraud-prevention signals, support communications, and information needed to respond to legal or privacy requests.

Card numbers are handled by Stripe. RED / BLUE receives payment identifiers, status, amounts, authorization and capture events, refund and dispute information, and related accounting evidence, but does not need to store raw card numbers.

3. Participation and abuse controls

A signed first-party participant cookie may be set after a visitor joins a side to limit repeated joins within a round. Network addresses may be processed for rate limiting, abuse detection, security, and short-lived deduplication of Captain views and clicks. Application keys used for these short control windows use keyed cryptographic hashes rather than raw network addresses in Redis.

4. Audience measurement and analytics

RED / BLUE may collect coarse page-view events through its own API for aggregate audience measurement. Shared-score pages are reported as the generic path /share without the public-link identifier. The backend may forward an allowed page path and a new non-persistent event identifier to Google Analytics. RED / BLUE does not intentionally forward a visitor's raw network address, browser user agent, referrer, account identity, participant cookie, or persistent visitor/session identifier to Google Analytics for this purpose, and advertising personalization signals are marked denied.

5. Captain destinations and public metadata

Submitted public domains and supported social handles may be fetched server-side to resolve public metadata such as icons, names, titles, descriptions, platform identifiers, and destination URLs. This public metadata may be cached and displayed in live Captain placements, historical round records, and shared-score pages.

6. Public history and shared scores

Final round results, Captain history, and visitor-created shared scores are intended to be public historical records. Shared scores may include the displayed round number, score percentages, cumulative totals, and public Captain names. A quarantined or removed Captain identity may be redacted, de-linked, or replaced without changing the underlying recorded RED / BLUE score.

7. How information is used

Information is used to operate rounds and Captain placement, prevent repeated or abusive participation, quote and process Captain bids, process payments and refunds, measure aggregate traffic and placement performance, maintain public history, secure the service, detect fraud and malware, respond to support requests, enforce the Terms and Rules, comply with legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims.

8. Service providers and recipients

RED / BLUE uses service providers that may process information on its behalf, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for production infrastructure, Stripe for payment processing, Google Analytics for configured aggregate audience measurement, and public profile or metadata sources needed to resolve advertiser-selected destinations. These providers process information under their own contractual and legal obligations. Advertisers do not receive private participant identity data from RED / BLUE merely because a user views or clicks a Captain placement.

9. Sale, targeted advertising, and sensitive data

RED / BLUE does not sell personal data for money. RED / BLUE does not use participant data to build cross-site behavioral advertising profiles. Captain placement is advertising inventory purchased by the Captain advertiser; it is not targeted to an identified individual based on a profile of activity across unrelated websites or services. RED / BLUE does not intentionally collect sensitive personal data for Captain advertising.

10. Retention

RED / BLUE retains information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, including operating the service, security and fraud prevention, payment disputes, accounting and tax support, enforcing agreements, and legal obligations. Retention varies by record type and the controls of the service providers involved; RED / BLUE does not promise a fixed deletion date unless one is stated below.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law and your relationship to RED / BLUE, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal data, and to appeal a denial of a privacy request. You may submit a request or appeal by emailing info@redblue.lol. RED / BLUE may take reasonable steps to verify identity and authority before acting on a request.

Because some RED / BLUE records are intentionally public historical records, deletion may be implemented by redacting or de-linking identifying Captain information while preserving non-personal round results, transaction records required by law, fraud-prevention evidence, or other information that RED / BLUE is permitted or required to retain.

12. Cross-border processing

RED / BLUE is operated from Texas, United States, and uses service providers that may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. By using the service, information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions with privacy laws different from those in your location, subject to applicable legal requirements.

13. Children

Paid Captain purchases are limited to people age 18 or older. RED / BLUE is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information in a manner that should be removed, contact info@redblue.lol.

14. Security

RED / BLUE uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service, including access controls, rate limits, cryptographic protections, payment-provider separation, and security logging. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

15. Changes and contact

RED / BLUE may update this Notice prospectively. The effective date above identifies the current public version. Privacy requests, appeals, or questions may be sent to info@redblue.lol.
